PD: Robber threatens to shoot store clerk

PEORIA, Ariz. – Peoria police are searching for an armed robbery suspect who held up a clerk at a Circle K early Thursday morning.

The suspect walked into the convenience store near Peoria and 75th avenues at approximately 1:30 a.m. and selected one can of beer, according to police spokesman Jay Davies. He approached the clerk at the counter and demanded the money from the register.

The suspect said he had a gun and threatened to shoot the clerk.

The suspect then fled the store with the cash. No vehicle was seen.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a plaid shirt, black sunglasses, and a black-and-white bandanna over his hair.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help to find him. He is facing charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault.
