SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A man was arrested after someone reported seeing him masturbating while stopped in his car at a Scottsdale intersection.

A man called police Thursday at about 6:30 a.m. to report the incident. He was stopped at a light westbound on Hayden and McDonald in a high-profile truck accompanied by another adult male.

The suspect, identified as Austin Harold Schreuer, 29, was allegedly fondling and exposing himself in his Chevrolet Camaro with the window rolled down.

The men who reportedly witnessed this yelled at him to stop at which point Schreuer covered his groin area with a towel.

The man who called police said there were high school-aged girls on the sidewalk nearby but did not think they saw the alleged indecent exposure.

The witness followed the suspect and reported his location to officers who conducted a traffic stop near Scottsdale Road and Doubletree Ranch Road.

Schreuer, a Mesa resident, was arrested following a brief interview although police say he did not admit to public sexual indecency.

The suspect was arrested and booked into Scottsdale City Jail and later released. He faces a criminal citation for indecent exposure and public sexual indecency.
