Arizona state senator plea bargainPosted: Updated:
Arizona State Senator, Scott Bundgaard, accepts a plea bargain for charges stemming from a freeway altercation with his former girlfriend.
After hours of negotiations Tuesday Bundgaard pleaded "no contest" to a misdemeanor endangerment charge.
Attorneys say the judge accepted the terms of the deal, which involved the dismissal of a misdemeanor assault charge as well.
The fight cost the Arizona lawmaker his senate majority leadership position. Bundgaard has one year to attend a diversion program if he doesn't want to face jail time and years of probation.
The agreement comes a day before Bundgaard was scheduled to appear in court for a pretrial hearing
