Alcohol believed to be a factor in fatal crashPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Charges are pending against a driver believed to be under the influence of alcohol during a fatal car accident early Sunday morning.
According to police, around 4:50 a.m. a Honda Fit being driven westbound on Oak Street failed to stop at a red light at 32nd Street and collided with a southbound Nissan Pathfinder.
The 32-year-old female driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The 25-year-old driver of the Honda was hospitalized for his injuries but is expected to survive.
The injuries to the 25-year-old passenger in the Honda were minor.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The investigation continues and will determine if charges are filed.
