PHOENIX - Three people are dead after a fiery collision on the Loop 101 overnight.
Around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, two vehicles were involved in an accident on the Loop 101 near Thomas Road.
One of the vehicles caught fire and the three occupants all died. It might take up to a week for the Maricopa County Medial Examiner's office is able to positively identify the victims.
One person, identified as James Earl Morang, 32, in the other vehicle was transported to the hospital as a precaution. He was treated for a broken left hand and released from the hospital.
He was then taken into custody and booked into jail on three counts of second degree murder.
Police believe he was impaired at the time of the accident.
