Jury deliberates in deadly motorcycle crash involving truck driverPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – Prosecutors say a dump truck driver was high on methamphetamine when he crashed into a group of motorcycle riders last year.
Michael Jakscht, 48, is charged with manslaughter for allegedly killing four motorcyclists on the Carefree Highway.
During closing arguments Friday the defense reiterated its claim that the drugs in Jakscht’s system were diet pills.
They also argued that the truck’s brakes were defective.
July deliberations are scheduled to begin Monday morning.
