CHANDLER, Ariz. - An alert citizen helped police catch three burglary suspects as they were fleeing after breaking into a car.

Early Thursday morning, officers were dispatched to the 12000 block of West Geronimo Street for the report of an active vehicle burglary. An alert citizen called 911 after seeing a subject break a window out of a vehicle and leave in a white passenger car.

A canine officer arriving in the area spotted a white passenger car driving through the neighborhood without its headlights on.

The driver swerved around the patrol vehicle, but a second officer was able to stop the car.

Three suspects, two adult males and one juvenile male, were taken into custody.

The two adult male suspects were identified as Leopold Macias, 19, and Cody Moon, 19.

They were booked into jail on charges of burglary.

The juvenile was released to his mother pending a criminal complaint.

Chandler police reminds residents to never leave valuables in a vehicle and always part your car in a garage whenever possible.
