PCC board approves Karamargin positionPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- One of Congresswoman Giffords' top staffers will have a new title in a few weeks.
C.J. Karamargin was up for a position at Pima Community College pending approval by the PCC board.
Wednesday the board unanimously voted in favor of C.J. Karamargin to take over as Vice Chancellor for Public Information and Government.
Karamargin accepts the position after working for four years as Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' Director of Communications.
"Leaving Gabby was one of the things that made this decision very hard, but I'm excited about this new challenge," said Karamargin. "The congressional office will continue to function as it has functioned."
Karamargin's last day at Giffords' office will be August 19 and he is expected to start at PCC on August 29.
Mark Kimble will take over as Director of Communications for Giffords' office.
Karamargin mentioned he believes the congresswoman will return to her office and he pointed to Giffords return to vote on the debt ceiling as an example.
