Overdue military awards presented to Tucson familiesPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Two families received military awards Wednesday from Congressman Raul Grijalva.
They include richard wamsley, who was wrongly denied a meritorious unit award ribbon.
And the family of world war two veteran jesus ramirez, who earned a purple heart and other decorations that will be reissued.
"It is very important to make their careers in the military whole, that the medals they receive, that they have them in their possession," said Representative Raul Grijalva.
Ramirez died in 1987 after retiring from the Air Force. Wamsley's record had been incorrectly annulled.
