PHOENIX – A man charged in the death and disappearance of a Chandler woman was found guilty today on 40 counts and the murder trial hasn't even begun.

Rick Valentini, 34, was visibly upset listening to the verdict in court Tuesday.

A jury convicted him on a long list of charges including forgery, identity theft and weapons misconduct.

Prosecutors say Valentini used credit cards and bank accounts belonging to his girlfriend, Jaime Laiaddee, who disappeared in 2010.

Laiadee is presumed dead and detectives believe Valentini may be responsible. He will go on trial for second-degree murder in October.

Valentini is scheduled to be sentenced for this conviction next month.
