PHOENIX – A 4-year-old who was found floating face-down in a backyard swimming pool has died.
It happened at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday at a home near 15th Street and Mission Lane, which is northeast of Dunlap Avenue.
According to investigators, the little boy was playing in the backyard with his siblings. Their mother called them inside and when the 4-year-old didn't respond, she started looking for him, eventually discovering him him face-down in the pool.
The mother called 911 as soon as he was found. She then began CPR.
It’s not known how long the child was under water, but he reportedly was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived.
He was rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
No other details about the incident were immediately available.
