Skeletal remains found during demolition of Phoenix building

PHOENIX – A construction worker discovered skeletal remains during a building demolition in Phoenix.
Police were called to the 2200 block of East Highland Avenue just before 11 a.m. Thursday after skeletal remains were found by a crane operator as a demolition crew worked to tear down the old Jockey Club building.
Homicide investigators and the Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the bones found are human remains.
Sgt. Trent Crump with the Phoenix Police Department said it will take a while to determine the cause of death.
A death investigation case is under way. No possible victim information has been determined.
