MESA, Ariz. – Mesa fire crews extricated a man and a woman from an SUV involved in a rollover crash Wednesday morning. Their 3-year-old granddaughter was also in the vehicle at the time of the wreck.

The rollover occurred on Country Club Drive north of Brown Road at approximately 9 a.m. Fire crews cut the roof off the SUV to rescue the two adults who were trapped inside, according to spokesman Capt. Forrest Smith.

Aerial video from the Fort McDowell Casino Newschopper showed a woman being removed from the car. She did not appear to be seriously injured. The man may have suffered some minor injuries. They were both transported to local hospitals.

Smith said bystanders safely removed the couple's 3-year-old granddaughter from the vehicle before fire personnel arrived.

Smith said the adults were using seat belts and the child was in a car seat at the time of the crash. It appears everyone is going to be OK.

Smith said that a pickup truck was involved in the crash. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
