LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) -- Wyoming men's basketball coach Larry Shyatt has landed another recruit.

Shyatt announced Monday that 6-foot-2 guard Shakir Smith, of Tucson, Ariz., will join the Cowboys this fall.

The coach says Smith has great shooting touch from the perimeter.

As a senior at Tucson High School, Smith averaged more than 24 points, five assists and three steals per game. In the Arizona state tournament, he scored 32 points in a loss to the No. 1 seed in the first round.

Smith also has played AAU basketball, competing in tournaments around the country.
