PHOENIX – A teen is in extremely critical condition after being hit by a car early Tuesday morning.
It happened shortly before 7 a.m. at Thunderbird Road and 23rd Avenue.
According to Sgt. Tommy Thompson, the 16-year-old was in the crosswalk, but he was crossing the street against the signal when a white car hit him.
Video from the scene showed the car’s shattered windshield. It actually buckled in, leaving a large hole on the passenger side.
Thompson said the man behind the wheel of that car did not appear to be impaired in any manner.
Investigators have not released the names of either the victim or the driver.
