Woman shot in car while leaving Phoenix apartment

PHOENIX - Police are looking for a suspect in an early morning shooting in the north Phoenix area.

According to police, a woman got in her car to drive to work just after 4 a.m. at the Remington Place Apartments near Seventh Street and Union Hills Drive.

As the 23-year-old woman was attempting to leave, a man approached the car, knocked on the driver's side window and attempted to open the car door.

The victim refused and began to back out of the parking space. The suspect then fired four shots into her car, striking the woman in her arm.

The woman was able to drive to a Chevron gas station at the corner of Seventh Street and Union Hills Drive where she called 911.

The only description of the suspect is a male last seen wearing a dark hoodie.

She was transported to the hospital, but the injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The suspect is still outstanding.
