Girl Scout sapce camp in TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Girl Scouts on Tucson's east side Monday afternoon had their heads in space.
Girls from third to sixth grade are at NASA camp in Hacienda for the next four days. They are learning from experts about space travel and robots, plus what astronauts eat. This is the first NASA camp and they want to continue it.
"Types of food that you can and cannot take into space, so, one of the activities is, why do astronauts eat tortillas," said Michelle Higgins from the Saguaro Girl Scout Council
The event is a part of STEM, science technology, engineering, and mathematics.
About 60 girls are participating in the camp this year.
