Man robs bank using wheelchair as disguise

AHWATUKEE, Ariz. – A man pretending to need a wheelchair is accused of robbing a bank Tuesday morning.

Police say the suspect robbed the bank at about 10:30 a.m. at a bank located at 4000 E. Chandler Boulevard.

Very little details on the incident have been released although detectives say the man only used the wheelchair as his disguise.

He reportedly fled on foot through the strip mall following the robbery.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late 20s or early 30s. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds.

He was seen wearing a tan straw hat, a blue pinstripe dress shirt and jeans.
