Wife fatally stabbed husband while high on meth

PHOENIX - A woman is facing murder charges after fatally stabbing her husband.

On the evening of Monday, July 18, police responded to a home near 20th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

The fire department was already on scene administering aid to the victim who had a stab injury to his back.

Kelly Shuster told officers she was the one who stabbed her husband with a kitchen knife.

Later after being advised of her Miranda rights, she told detectives she became mad when her husband grabbed her hair during and pulled it when they were having a verbal argument. She said she picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed him when he went to sit down in a chair.

Shuster also admitted to both her and the victim using methamphetamine a couple of hours prior to the incident happening.

The husband passed away from his injuries on Saturday.

The couple's two children are in CPS custody.
