Arizona headlines: SV arrests; Flagstaff murder suicde; Sabino hiker dies

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- A Sierra Vista teenager has been arrested for murder and rape.

Early Sunday morning police were called to the Mountain Shadows subdivision off of Cherokee.

They arrested 17-year-old Theodore Ramos on charges of first degree murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and ten counts of sexual assault.

Ramos has been booked into the county jail and no bond has been set.


SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- Sierra Vista police have also arrested a 22-year-old man who allegedly tried to kill two people at a house party.

It happened Saturday near the 1300 block of Quail Hollow Drive.

Investigators say Nathaniel Jaramillo, also known as Simon, shot at two people in a car as they were returning to the party.

The car was struck, but nobody inside was hit.

Jaramillo was arrested for two counts of attempted homicide and eight counts of aggravated assault.

He's being held on $200,000 bond.


FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Police have released the names of three people killed in an apparent murder-suicide at a Northern Arizona motorcyle rally.

The suspect, 38-year-old christian tejada of peoria, along with 45-year-old edgar atzin and his 43-year-old wife trina ann atzin of phoenix all died friday at a campground in lake mormon.

Investigators say there's a possibility a dispute over food may have prompted the shooting and that alcohol was a factor.

A fourth woman who was also injured is listed in critical condition at a hospital.


TUCSON, Ariz. -- An Indiana man visiting family in Tucson has died after going on a hike in Sabino Canyon.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says 52-year-old Timothy Turner and his nephew hiked to the Seven Falls area Saturday afternoon.

When they got there, Turner began having chest pains and then stopped breathing.

Turner's nephew tried to revive him using CPR, but when a rescue team arrived, Turner was dead.
