Loughner forcibly medicated, againPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Prison doctors are once again forcibly medicating Safeway shooting suspect Jared Loughner.
According to court filings, Loughner's attorneys claim the Springfield prison resumed giving the 22-year-old a psychotropic drug because of an emergency.
The defense team questions whether that violates last week's ruling by the ninth circuit court of appeals forbidding prison officials from involuntarily medicating Loughner.
Prison officials claim Loughner has been on a 24-hour suicide watch but he denies having suicidal thoughts.
