Posted: Updated:

The Tucson Police Department's Robbery Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect responsible for several armed robberies in Tucson. The suspect has struck nine times between June 22, 2011 and July 11, 2011, and has targeted mostly smaller businesses that are situated within large strip malls.

The suspect enters the business, usually mid-afternoon, presents a threatening demand note indicating that he is armed, and places the money in a small bag that he brings with him.

Witnesses indicate that the suspect displays a calm demeanor during the robbery. Weapons have been implied, but not seen.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 20-30 years of age, 5'6" to 5'9" tall, with a medium to husky build, black hair, brown eyes, and a mustache and thin beard.  He commonly wears blue jeans and t-shirts, aviator-style sunglasses, and a hat.  In several robberies he wore a black fedora-type hat with a white stripe. No vehicle has been seen.

The Tucson Police Department urges anyone with information about the identity or location of the suspect to contact 911 or 88-CRIME.
