PHOENIX – Silent Witness is offering a reward to help locate a suspect who robbed a Phoenix bar Thursday morning.

A man holding a black semiautomatic handgun and wearing a surgical or dust mask entered through the back door of the Purple Turtle Bar at Indian School Road and 51st Avenue shortly before 11 a.m.

Police said the suspect held the customers and employees at gunpoint while demanding their wallets and cell phones. He then demanded the money from the safe.

After obtaining the cash, he fled through the back door and got into a gold or tan sedan, which left the scene at a high rate of speed.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 215 pounds with a shaved head.

Police released surveillance video and photos of the suspect on Monday.

Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity and whereabouts is asked to contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or silentwitness.org.
