TUCSON, Ariz. -- Prison doctors cannot forcibly medicate Jared Loughner, right now.
They wanted to give the accused safeway shooter anti-psychotic medication because of violent behavior he's shown toward doctors and lawyers while in prison.
But a federal appeals panel says that wasn't reason enough.
Prison doctors likely will want to forcibly medicate loughner to restore his competency to stand trial, but that would have to come with a full court hearing first.
