Census finds nearly 21,000 same-sex couples in ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- The 2010 U.S. Census counted nearly 21,000 same-sex couples in Arizona.
Detailed household figures released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau show that slightly more than 11,000 of those couples were female and 9,850 were male.
People who identified themselves to census-takers as living with a same-sex partner are still just a tiny fraction of all households.
The bureau counted nearly 1.15 million husband and wife households in Arizona.
