Grijalva debt commentsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- District 7 Democrat Raul Grijalva feels President Obama appears too eager to compromise with Republicans in order to strike a deal on the debt ceiling.
Grijalva Thursday called on the president to end tax cuts for wealthy Americans while refusing all cuts to social security, medicare, and medicaid.
"The tax cuts for the rich, need to be on the table, before we start cutting our way out of this situation," said Representative Raul Grijalva.
Grijalva fears that in exchange for deficit reduction, the deal could include major cuts to programs that help the elderly and the poor.
