PHOENIX --Thousands of people are going to be visiting Phoenix this weekend for the All-Star festivities.

Thanks to some very smart people at Arizona State University, getting around is going to be a whole lot easier.

Retha Hill showed Kaley O'Kelley a special concierge-style mobile app designed to connect you to the best downtown Phoenix.

Hill is an instructor at ASU's Walter Conkite School of Journalism and Mass communications. With her at the helm, the New Media Innovation Lab developed SmartPHX.

This app isn't just for those who are unfamiliar with the "urban heart of Arizona." It's meant for visitors and residents alike.

Whether you're looking for events, dining, night life, shopping -- if it's in downtown Phoenix, the SmartPHX app has the info you need. What's more, the app know where you are so it can point you to the closest restaurants, shopping, culture and more.

Just point your smartphone's browser to SmartPhx.com.
