How to give your home a 'beachy' feel

PHOENIX -- If these super hot temperatures have you longing for a day at the beach, look no further than your own home.

As Kaley O'Kelley explains, a few simple touches can give a room that "beachy" feeling all year long.

Interior designer Kimm Jones of In the Pink Boutique showed her exactly how to do it.

"What you don't want to do it make the room literal," she said. "You want to make it sort of a metaphor and evoke the feeling."

Basically you're going for an open, light and airy feeling.

It doesn't have to be expensive. Chances are you already have some elements -- perhaps a piece of art of some seashells -- that you can use. From there, you should be able to shop for the rest without breaking the bank.

"There are so many things you can do with lighting and fabric and texture ... instead of knocking down walls and changing everything," Jones said.
