FLORENCE, Ariz. – Over a dozen pit bulls were seized from an Arizona City home after someone reported they were being neglected.Officers with the Pinal County Animal Care and Control removed 17 pit bulls from the home Thursday evening after receiving a call about neglected and abandoned animals in a house on South Laredo Road.When officers arrived at the home, they found two pit bulls tied and tangled in short chains in the front yard. There was no water available to the dogs.Animal Control was preparing a search warrant when the dogs' owner arrived and gave officers permission to search the property.Fifteen more pit bulls were located behind the home. Some of them appeared to be in poor health. They were taken to the Pinal County Animal Care and Control.The dogs are being held as evidence while Animal Care and Control concludes its investigation because the owner does not want to surrender the pets.Animal Care and Control has taken in almost 90 animals in the past two weeks due to poor living conditions and hoarding.Director Kaye Dickson said they welcome monetary donations to help with the cost of caring for these animals.
