GUADALUPE, Ariz. -- A 17-year-old girl was arrested Tuesday in connection with the case of three children found inside a burning trailer in Guadalupe. Two of them were bound with masking tape.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said Sadie Johnson was supposed to be baby-sitting her sisters at the time.

She has been charged with arson of an occupied structure, kidnapping, endangerment and discharge of a weapon in city limits, according to Sgt. Jesse Spurgin.

He said no charges of attempted murder or attempted manslaughter were filed by the County Attorney’s Office.

The children were trapped inside the trailer home where a couch was on fire June 22. Two of the children, ages 1 and 2, were bound at the hands and around the head with duct tape, according to the sheriff's office. A 4-year-old was also inside but was not bound.

Investigators also say Johnson at some point fired a weapon inside the home.

Police say she initially told officers several versions of what happened involving an intruder and a possible accomplice but eventually confessed to police.

The siblings were treated for smoke inhalation, but they were not seriously injured. The sheriff's office says they are now back at home.

Johnson is being held on a $450,000 bond. Investigators say the suspect was angry about being ignored by her mother.
