Heat caused power outage on Tucson's northwest sidePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The heat may have caused a power outage Monday on the northwest side.
TEP says it looks like equipment at a substation may have failed at 4:40, when a lot of people are running their air conditioning.
Initially 3400 customers were without power. And at last check 2800 still did not have power.
The boundaries of the outage were Tangerine south to Hardy and Thornydale east to La Canada.
