Armed bank robber targeting Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. - Tempe police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying and locating a male suspect who is responsible for three bank robberies in Tempe and Chandler over the past month.

On May 29 the Chase Bank at Guadalupe Road and McClintock Drive in Tempe was robbed. On June 20 the Chase Bank at Dobson Road and Chandler Boulevard in Chandler was robbed and on June 25 the Bank of America at Rural Road and Ray Road in Tempe was robbed.

In all three robberies the male suspect was armed with a handgun when he demanded money from bank employees. Bank staff complied with his demands and no injuries occurred.

The suspect is described as a white male, 50 to 70 years old, 6 feet tall, with a medium build, short gray hair, and unshaven facial hair. His eye color is unknown, but he wears metal-framed eyeglasses.

In each robbery he wore the same navy blue T-shirt and the same reddish-orange baseball cap.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
