4 Fun events happening this weekend

Matt Lehrman from Showup.com gives Tess the weekly rundown of fun things going on around the state this weekend.  Events featured today:

1) Music on the Mountain: An outdoor concert series presented by LAVA Music in Summerhaven on Mt. Lemmon that takes place every Sunday through September 4.  Music on the Mountain is a festival under a big tent. Admission is free...just bring a lawn chair! Sunday June 26 hear the Bryan Dean Trio. Bryan's larger-than-life guitar-playing forms the basis of his trio. The trio combines blues, rock and roll, and roots music, and they are such masters at their art that every performance is unique and wonderful. The Bryan Dean Trio won the 2010 SABHF Blues Challenge and competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2011. Bryan Dean and Ralph Gilmore were both inductees in the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame.

2) Flagstaff Folk Festival : Taking place on June 25 and 26, Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music presents the 10th annual Flagstaff Folk Festival on the grounds of The Coconino Center for the Arts and The Pioneer Museum. Over 150 musicians perform on four different stages. Live music abounds from individual and group acts, including fiddlers, folk singers, string bands, jam sessions, a band scramble, and more. Attendees will be impressed by the sheer volume of talent and amazed by hearing marvelous seasoned performers and impressive new groups and singer-songwriters. There will be workshops, open to all festival attendees, covering various instruments and such topics as songwriting and instrument care. Under the pines in a serene and cool setting, the Festival stretches across the grounds of the Coconino Center for the Arts and the Pioneer Museum.

3) Prescott's Downtown Summer Concert Series: Prescott's Picturesque Courthouse Plaza hosts free, live entertainment five nights a week, from karaoke singing to dance lessons to band performances. Prescott's Downtown Summer Concert Series aims to offer something for everyone in its expanded evening programs. The events will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, on Courthouse Plaza's north lawn on Gurley Street, and will include 65 evenings of entertainment

4) Mazes Exhibit: Open now through September 7, 2011 at the Arizona Science Center. Test your brain as you maneuver your way through Mazes in the Sybil B. Harrington galleries - an unforgettable adventure that's sure to challenge, entertain and amaze! Test your perceptions in a feast of visual trickery inside the giant Maze of Illusions. Grab an instrument and lay down a fresh beat in the Music Maze. Get entangled and untangled in the Web Maze, Wrap your head around the Puzzle Maze, put your finger on the pulse of the Finger Maze and get lost in a network of color in the Color Maze. You won't believe your eyes!
