Obesity forum in TucsonPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- An anti-obesity group says Arizona children are in danger.
A forum was held Tuesday on obesity and poor mental health among Arizona's children.
More than 30% of Arizona's kids ages 10-17 qualify as obese.
"What are some innovative things we can do, especially today in an enviornemnt where we have so little money available. I mean everybody is struggling, the state government and the federal government, but never the less our people need this type of information because the people need care." said former Surgeon General Richard Carmona.
They say several kids in the state have not yet been diagnosed because of the shortage in healthcare providers, that screen for these epidemics.
