PHOENIX - A suspect refusing to come off the roof of a Phoenix apartment building forced the early morning evacuation of the residents.
Phoenix police responded to an apartment complex located in the area of the I-17 and Thunderbird Road around 4:45 a.m. for a domestic violence call.
A black male had committed a domestic violence related crime.
Officers then discovered the suspect had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Police established a perimeter around the complex and when the sun came up officers discovered the suspect on the roof.
The suspect refused to come down.
Around 6:45 a.m. the suspect did surrender to officers. Residents were then allowed to return home.
