Fake bomb found in the back of car in central Phoenix parking lotPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - Phoenix police and the FBI have taken two men into custody for having an apparent fake bomb in the back of their car in a central Phoenix parking lot.
Early Wednesday morning police responded to Park Central near Central Avenue and Thomas Road.
Police tell us an anonymous caller phoned in the tip that two men in the parking lot of the shopping complex had a fake mortar shell in the back of their car.
When contacted by police, the men said it was a military practice device and was not a live round.
The FBI came in to take over the investigation. The two men are in custody. No word on what charges they might face.
