4-Year-old dies after being pulled from pool in Apache Junction

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz. - A 4-year-old boy has died two days after being pulled from a swimming pool in Apache Junction.

Rescue personnel were called to a home in the 2100 block of South Cactus Road on Sunday afternoon near Tomahawk Road and Southern Avenue.

The boy was pulled from a swimming pool and CPR was performed.

The child was rushed to the Arizona Regional Medical Center unresponsive and in critical condition.

Once at the hospital, doctors were able to get a pulse, but never regained conciousness.

He was transferred to Banner Desert Cardon Children's Medical Center for additional treatment.

No word on how he got into the pool.
