Chandler woman reunited with missing dog

CHANDLER, Ariz. - A Chandler dog owner was reunited with her missing dog a day after he was taken when thieves stole her car.

Thursday night Carol Denmead ran into a Walgreens in Sun Lakes and when she returned, her car and her dog were gone.

Last night police found the car, but the beloved dog named Joey, who was in the car at the time of the theft, was missing up until 6 p.m. Friday night.

Denmead and her sister Bev leaft no stone unturned as they handed out fliers in front of the grocery store where the thieves said the dropped off Denmead’s beloved pooch.

They asked for help in finding Denmead’s 12-year-old Australian Sheppard who needs medication for seizures.

The car was stolen near Alma School and Riggs roads. Police found the car last night near Gilbert and Riggs roads and arrested three people.

Denmead was offering a $1,000 reward for his safe return.

Joey was found in Sacaton and returned home safely.
