Chippendales men fluster the ladies of 3TV

PHOENIX – Listen up, ladies! The world-famous Chippendales are in Phoenix for one-night only. Before they steam up the stage at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix, two of the men – Jaymes Vaughn and Staceyy Robinson – stopped by 3TV.

When they were through distracting all the ladies in the newsroom, they headed over the main studio to chat with Tara Hitchcock as women from other 3TV departments looked on from the second-floor window. It was a very fun interview – worth a watch. Just click the video above.

Now if Chippendales makes you think of gold lamé G-strings and cheesy dance moves on roller skates, you’re in for a surprise. The show has come a long way. It’s now a fully choreographed Broadway-style production.

“There are singers, there are rappers, there are dancers, there are guitar players – there’s all kinds of different stuff,” Vaughn said. “It’s a full-scale production show – a multi-million dollar production. It’s something everybody can come and see.

“It’s not a stripper pole. We’re not slingin’ dollar bills. … There’s no tipping. There’s none of that stuff. It’s a show!” he continued, explaining that audience members range in age from 18 to 80.

Robinson said there’s some friendly competition between the guys, but it’s all in good spirit.

“We just have fun,” he said. “But I will be honest, when a guy gets out of line or out of shape, we do – in a nice way – [mention it] We’re brothers!”

They have a code word for it – pam-pam. Hitchcock tried to pam-pam the guys, but they’re in too great of shape.

The interview wrapped up with lots of laughter and Hitchcock in the middle of a Chippendales sandwich.

The Chippendales show, dubbed the Ultimate Girls’ Night Out!, is at 9 p.m. Club doors open at 7 p.m. and theatre doors open at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 to $50, and you must be 18 or older to attend.

Celebrity Theatre is located at 440 N. 32nd St., Phoenix.
