Camp Scrubs teaches Tucson students about being a nursePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Airz. -- Tucson middle school students thinking about a career as a nurse learned what it takes this week.
Camp Scrubs at University Medical Center is in its eigth year. The camp shows students the right high school classes they should take if they might want to be a nurse one day, or in another medical field.
"It helps you find out what field you might want someday. You might want to be an anesthesiologist or be in radiology or pediatrics," said student Katie Tucker.
Twenty students took part in Camp Scrubs this week. UMC has more than 1,000 nurses on staff.
