Little girl nearly drowns in backyard play poolPosted: Updated:
GOODYEAR, Ariz. - A young girl was airlifted to the hospital after nearly drowning in a play pool in the backyard of her Goodyear home.
According to the Goodyear fire public information officer, they received a call just after 11:15 a.m. Thursday of a 16-month-old near drowning at a home near Van Buren and Dysart roads.
They found the little girl in the backyard face down next to a play pool.
Reports indicate the girl and her brother were playing in the pool and the parent went around the side of the house to unkink the garden hose.
The brother alerted the parent that his sister was taking in water.
Firefighters performed CPR and when she was airlifted to the hospital she was crying but was lethargic.
No word on her condition at this time.
