MESA, Ariz. - A Mesa woman makes a frightened call to 911 after a burglar bursts into her home. She now wants to warn other homeowners to be on the lookout.

She does not want us to use her name. She also did not want to go on camera. However, she does want to get this story out there as a warning to be on the lookout.

The phone call with 911 took place last Wednesday:
Caller: He's trying to come in. He's still inside."
911 Dispatcher: “What is he banging on?”
Caller: “I don't know.”

The victim who made that call to 911says listening to the 911 call has her reliving the terror. “I couldn’t say anything. I was just screaming."

The victim was able to put together a composite of the suspect. "If there is a word to describe what I was feeling,” says the victim, “It was ‘survive’."

She says the man went door to door in her Mesa neighborhood asking people about a lost puppy. Around 9:45 p.m. he rang her doorbell.

She talked to him through a locked security door for a quick second. Fifteen minutes later the man came back, this time frantically ringing the doorbell. She immediately knew something was wrong and called 911.

The suspect ran around to the back of the house. He broke through a security door, the back door and eventually, after a struggle, he made his way through the victim’s bedroom door.

The victim describes her emotions, "The part that got me about the 911 tape was when I was just screaming. I couldn’t get any words out. It was just primal screaming."

After a brief standoff, she had armed herself with a flashlight. The criminal went for her jewelry. That’s when she made a dash for it but she remained on the phone with authorities.

The victim is worried what this guy might do if he is not caught.
