Fundraiser for Tucson cyclist injured in hit and runPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucson musicians came together Sunday to raise money for a bicyclist injured in a hit and run last month.
Sam Abate, 23, is an avid musician and some of the local artists he supports decided to help his family.
Abate was seriously injured May 20 near Swan and Camp Lowell, when a driver hit him.
He spent a few weeks in the hospital, but is now at home undergoing rehab.
"I think it's wonderful that everybody came together to support me, the whole community, so it's really great," said Sam Abate.
Sam's musician friends have also put together a CD to raise money. It costs $12 and can be purchased on-line.
