Teen bicyclist critical after hit-and-runPosted: Updated:
SURPRISE, Ariz. – A 17-year-old bicyclist is in critical condition after a hit-and-run in Surprise Sunday night.
The teen was riding his bike near Bell Road and 115th Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle believed to be a dark-colored pickup truck, according to the Surprise Police Department.
Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle stop briefly before speeding off eastbound on Bell Road.
The truck is believed to have damage to the passenger side, including a missing headlight and mirror.
The cyclist was airlifted to a local hospital and is listed in extremely critical condition.
