American version of 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' to open this ChristmasPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- The Millennium Trilogy books by Swedish author Steig Larsson have been on the best-seller list for years. They have already been made into movies by a Swedish production company, but now the much-anticipated American version of "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" is coming to the silver screen.
Rooney Mara plays Lisbeth Salander and Daniel Craig plays Mikael Blomkvist. David Fincher, the man behind the cameras of last year's "The Social Network," is the director.
Fans of the books, which sold more than 50 million copies in 46 countries, and the Swedish movies have been eagerly awaiting the trailer for the first American film.
