SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Scottsdale police have arrested a man after an investigation found he has been involved in a sexual relationship with a minor.

Scottsdale police arrested Daniel Lavern Stuart, 30, of Mesa, on suspicion of molesting a 14-year-old girl for the past eight years.

On May 26, police received information that Stuart, who spent time with the victim's family, was seen kissing the girl at their church two weeks ago.

According to court paperwork, a parishioner at the church told the victim's parents, who then reported the incident to Scottsdale police.

In an interview with investigators, the victim said she did kiss Stuart in the past. She said that when she was between the ages of six to 10-years-old, Stuart would spend the night at their family home and when everyone was asleep, enter her bedroom and molest her.

The teen victim also told an investigator that Stuart also inappropriately touched another minor while the girl was sleeping over at her house. Police continue to investigate this claim.

Stuart was arrested on Wednesday at his Mesa home.

He is being held on charges of sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation and sexual abuse.
