TUCSON, Ariz. -- Patients at UMC's Diamond Children's Medical Center Monday received cuddly gifts from students at the Pima Community College law enforcement academy.

The group is giving back through its project "Operation Care Bear."  Students collected and then delivered 50 new stuffed animals to the children.

"We want to make sure that not only do the kids see these folks as police officers that can help them, but also, we wanna make sure that these folks here see these kids and understand they really do need our support and need our help," said Kirk Simmons from Pima Community College.

The academy has 18 cadets that will soon be graduating.
