Pearce recall effortPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- A group trying to recall Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce plans to file petition signatures Tuesday, which is the filing deadline.
Citizens for a Better Arizona are going door to door making one final push to collect signatures.
They've been gathering signatures for the past four months in an effort to oust the Mesa republican.
"People want to sign they are really tired of the extreme agenda that's being proposed. There's nothing being done about jobs, jobs, jobs, but they have time to pass a license plate that doesn't do anything. It doesn't put food on people's tables," said recall volunteer Carolyn Cooper.
If the group files enough valid signatures, the recall election would be held in November or March.
The timing would depend on how long it takes to verify the petition signatures.
