SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A Valley man is facing charges in connection with a Scottsdale bank robbery after police say they caught him in the act.
According to investigator Frederick Binger walked into the Wells Fargo Bank near 68th Street and Camelback Road Saturday afternoon. He allegedly handed the teller a note demanding money.
The teller reportedly gave Binger and undisclosed amount of money. He then left the scene on foot.
Officers caught up with Binger a short time later on the corner of Scottsdale and Camelback roads and took him into custody without incident.
Not only did the teller positively identify Binger, he also had the cash from the bank in his possession, said Officer David Pubins of the Scottsdale Police Department.
No injuries were reported in the course of the armed robbery or subsequent arrest.
Binger, 40, of Chandler, is charged with one count of armed robbery.
