Phoenix motorcyclist killed when cycle hits vanPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police say a 59-year-old motorcyclist has died after allowing his bike to drift into oncoming traffic on a city street.
The man died at about 9 p.m. Sunday after his Yamaha struck a small van head-on on 19th Avenue in north Phoenix. His name was not immediately released.
Police say the man was not wearing a helmet.
A woman in her late 30s driving the van was wearing a seatbelt and wasn't hurt. Three children in the SUV also were wearing seatbelts and were also unhurt.
